We're delighted to share news of alumna Cecilia Noble's nomination for an Evening Standard Theatre Award, and share a full list of the graduates who worked on this year's shortlisted productions.
In October, Central welcomed members of the industry to the School for its 2019 Hosts Afternoon. The annual event provides an opportunity for current students who are about to embark on their industry placements to meet with their hosts and to get tips and advice from staff, alumni and leaders in the field on making the most of their time in residence with leading arts organisations and schools.
From 2-3 October, Central hosted Collisions 2019, an annual festival of practice research in performance, Collisions is an annual festival that showcases the thriving doctoral practice research community at Central and across London institutions more broadly. Through Collisions, research degree students and creative fellows engage with what it means to be researching with, though, in and by practice, and share this engagement with a wider academic and public audience.
Congratulations to Central’s Dr Nicola Abraham and a team from the NHS's Imperial Hospital Trust who, together with a cohort of Central students and alumni, have been shortlisted for two awards for their intergenerational process drama projects.
On Thursday 26 September, Central was pleased to host Stage Sight’s September Members’ Forum, and to welcome industry representatives to the School to share ideas and best practice around fostering a more inclusive, representative sector.
On Thursday 12 and Friday 13 September, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Shakespeare’s Globe co-hosted two days of events to comabat racism in theatre practice.
Congratulations to Central’s Knowledge Exchange Fellow Dr Naomi Paxton, who has been awarded the prestigious TaPRA Early Career Research Prize.
On Monday 12 August, Central was delighted to welcome the winners of its Prop Doughnut Competition to the School for a special prop making workshop.
