Course overview

During this one day course, you will be introduced to the basic principles of the Sesame Approach to dramatherapy. It will offer a practical experience of some of the key concepts within a group setting.

The Sesame Approach is informed by Jungian Psychology and draws together Laban movement, myth, play theory and Billy Lindkvist’s work with movement with touch and sound.

Who is this course for?

  • Anyone over 18, regardless of previous experience of drama or psychology.
  • People with an interest in learning more about the Sesame Approach to drama and movement therapy.
  • Those who want to find out more about the full-time MA Drama and Movement Therapy training at Central.

During the day you will take part in:

  • Movement-based studio practice.
  • Small group work to think about the application of the Sesame Approach in different settings.
  • Drama based activities.
  • An option to ask questions about Central's full-time training.

General Information

  • This workshop is for students aged 18 and over
  • Our workshops are capped at a maximum of 16 people
  • Participants will be required to wear loose, comfortable clothing they can move in and work in bare feet.
  • All workshops take place at Central's main campus in Swiss Cottage
  • You can receive a full refund up until 7 days before the workshop date. After this the fees are non-refundable and we're unable to defer places to a future workshop
  • Central reserves the right to cancel this workshop within 7 days of it beginning if we don't meet the minimum number of sign-ups required. In this event, you will be notified of this by email and will receive a full refund of the course fee. We're unable to refund any additional costs you may have incurred (travel, accommodation etc).
