Costume Construction

On this course students become part of a creatively inventive team of costume makers. Through training in technical skills and working closely with costume designers, you will learn to interpret briefs and create costumes and accessories for productions.

Studying Design for Performance prepares students to work creatively and professionally as set and costume designers. 

Production Lighting

Production Lighting

This course trains students to realise performance lighting, video and projection. Working with peers and professionals, students gain an understanding of how to specify lighting, power and video systems, manage the procurement and much more.

Prop Making

This vocational training course in professional prop making can lead to a career in all areas of the entertainment industry, including theatre, film and television, as well as window display, model animation, community arts, museum installation and replication work.

Scenic Painting for Stage and Screen

Develop your artistic skills and learn to interpret set designs for all areas of the entertainment industry - theatre, video, television and film. 

Scenic Construction

Set Construction for Stage and Screen

Learn to plan and build sets, and develop skills such as carpentry, structural design, metal work and mechanical engineering. Training will principally be in theatre, but the skills learnt are easily transferable to many different media environments.

Technical and Production Management

Technical and Production Management

As live theatre and performance becomes an increasingly important part of the global economy, there is a huge demand for Technical and Production Management professionals. This course trains students in the specialist skills and knowledge of managing creative processes from initial concept through rehearsal to realised performance.

Theatre Lighting Design

Lighting Design

This course trains students in the art of lighting design for theatre, live performance and related fields. It involves learning the practical skills required to rig, focus and maintain lighting equipment whilst developing the ability to make aesthetic and technical design choices. It also covers aspects of video and projection design.

Theatre Sound

Develop the art of creating and controlling the total sonic environment of live performance - one of the most rapidly evolving of the theatre disciplines. This practical course focuses on theatre sound and music, and sees students learn through working on realised projects.
