In light of the current situation surrounding the global COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, and in line with Public Health England and Government guidelines, we have suspended all in-person audition and interview activity effective immediately and until further notice.
We hope you understand why we have taken this decision. At this point, we feel it is the only responsible action for all those involved.
This does not mean that we are cancelling the auditions and interviews; instead, we are moving them to a new format. From today, all auditions and interviews for Central's courses will be conducted remotely with immediate effect and until further notice.
What this means:
We appreciate the weeks and months that our applicants have spent preparing for their auditions and interviews. This new format is different, but everything is different at the moment. One thing has not changed: Central wants you to do well and we wish you the best of luck in your audition or interview.
For further information, please visit our dedicated COVID-19 (Coronavirus) webpage.
Open days are the best way of experiencing what we have to offer you as a student at Central. During each year we usually hold separate open days for undergraduate study including BA Theatre Practice and BA Drama, Applied Theatre & Education, as well as several Postgraduate Open Evenings, Research Degrees Information events and taster sessions for MA/MFA Movement: Directing and Teaching. Dates are always published on the open days category of our event listings.
If you are unable to book onto an open day here, it may be possible to arrange a tour for you. Please contact our Open Events team who will be happy to discuss your requirements.
Alternatively, you can explore our performance, production, study and social spaces with our Virtual Tour.
Please note that we do not offer open days for undergraduate Acting courses, including BA (Hons) Acting, BA (Hons) Acting (Music Theatre) or BA (Hons) Acting (Collaborative and Devised Theatre). During the audition process for these you will receive a talk about your course, an orientation and tour of Central, and opportunities to ask questions about the course and facilities.
We hold auditions for performance-based courses and interviews for non-performance courses (such as BA Theatre Practice). These take place from December to April at our facilities here in London and you will either be able to choose a slot or be offered one after you have submitted your application. We also offer regional auditions/interviews in Manchester, Newcastle, Bristol and Leicester.
Last year, we awarded over 1,200 free audition vouchers which enabled more applicants to attend auditions, increasing access to specialist drama training. Find out if you qualify for a free audition here.
If you are not based in the UK you can book an audition or interview slot at one of our international events, which we regularly hold in North and South America, Australia and Singapore.
You can find a full list of upcoming international auditions and interviews on our event listings pages.
