Central is a specialist college for the performing arts. We offer 14 MA/MFA courses and 3 undergraduate programmes, themselves comprising of 16 separate courses as well as a Research Degree programme and a range of Short Courses.
Our courses are in the areas of acting, actor training, applied theatre, theatre crafts and making, design, drama therapy, lighting, movement, musical theatre, performance, producing, puppetry, scenography, stage management, sound, technical arts and production, theatre studies, voice, writing and much else besides.
Central’s curriculum is planned by specialist staff and external peers. Each course undergoes a validation process at its inception, annual monitoring each year and a Periodic Review every 5 years. External Examiners work with us to look at quality, level and more. Student experience is very important to us and is gathered in formal and informal ways.
We work to strengthen our legislative duties to proactively promote equality, eliminate discrimination and foster good relations through the curriculum (among other things) and regularly review the management, design and delivery of learning, teaching and assessment so as to incorporate (rather than add on) equality and diversity.
Please visit our Course Finder where each course has its own page with video and written information about the course, the professional focus of the course, the learning experience, entry requirements, fees and funding and much more.
