2020 - Weekly movement class with the BA (Hons) Acting students (Collaborative and Devised Theatre) at RCSSD mentored by Miranda Henderson and Alister O'Loughlin. Teaching movement classes preparing students for their unit assessment in Vaudeville style performance. (using my influence from contemporary dance training)

2020 - Actor movement classes for MA Acting for Screen at RCSSD. Host: Amanda Brennan. Delivering online movement classes during COVID-19. Keeping the actors mobile and moving in a time of physical restriction. Working with screen actors to develop a physical character through the influence of environment. Exploring spatial awareness and co-ordination.


2020 - The Herd Theatre. Ruby Thompson and Sam Caseley: collaborating with BA Drama Applied Theatre and Education students at RCSSD. Bringing movement to an online platform creating a show for under 5's. Investigating risk in play and how narrative led performance can integrate audience free play.

2020- The Birds and The Babies. New Writing Night. Director Susie MacDonald Writer Lee McClellan.

2020 - Audiomoves by Peut Etre. Director Daphna Attais, assisting movement director Ayse Tashkiran.  A podcast for little ones and big ones to move to using storytelling and finding explorative movement in imagery.



2019 - Assistant movement director: Five. Winter Walker Theatre Company.  Hullabaloo Theatre, Derby Theatre. Director Kitty Winter.  Non verbal production for under 5's exploring the body’s senses.

2019 - Movement support. Snowwhite:  Chickenshed Rayne Theatre. Director Lou Stein. Christmas production with a cast of professional actors and young people from 5 - 18 creating inclusive theatre.

2019 - Movement support: Civil Blood. Dance Untied in collaboration with New Adventures. Riley Theatre Leeds. Direction and Choreography Paul Smethurst, Sam Archer, Helen Linsell.

2017 - Movement director:  The Enchanted: Pharmacy Theatre. The Bunker Theatre London, transfer from The Edinburgh Fringe. Director Connie Treves. 

2014 - Movement director/devisor: Seen and Not Heard. Site Specific, Armley Mill Leeds. NSCD.


2018 to Present - Inclusive Movement Workshop Facilitator: Good Chance. Inclusive workshops in creative movement for refugee and asylum seekers across the UK and France.

2019 - Ballet Teacher:  My Ballet. Inclusive ballet classes for pensioners. Building mobility, creative expression and social interaction for mental and physical health and wellbeing.

2017 – Dance: Yoga: Theatre facilitator. Premier Performing Arts. Delivering movement development, creative expression and relaxation in dance, theatre and yoga classes for vulnerable children in primary schools across London.

2017 - Present : Yoga Teacher: Teaching classes internationally. These includes The Arrigo Program, Good Chance Socials, Global Media Campaign amongst others. 

Teaching Vinyasa, Restorative, Partner and Inclusive Yoga. Classes and residential retreats.


Emily Orme is a movement director, choreographer and teacher based in London and the South West. She completed her BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance where she developed her ability to create and devise movement. She has choreographed, movement directed, assisted, and performed in numerous professional productions across the country.  These include assisting  on a non-verbal children's production with Winter Walker Theatre Company to movement directing a physical theatre adaptation of the novel 'The Enchanted' at The Bunker in London. A qualified yoga instructor, she has a holistic and developed knowledge of movement, use of breath and full body expression. In her current work with Good Chance and Chickenshed, she has gained experience in inclusive theatre practice, in forming movement ensembles with performers of mixed ages and abilities as well as with professional actors.

As a movement director, Emily is interested in creating performances that are accessible to wider audiences, telling authentic, urgent stories that need to be shared. Collaboration with actors, directors and the entire creative team is an integral part of Emily’s process as she enriches a narrative with physical language. To all her work, she brings an intuition for movement possibilities and a compassionate collaborative approach. She is developing and refining these skills as she completes the MA Movement: Directing and Teaching at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
