Laura Lucía is a movement practitioner who did an Acting BA at Universidad Central in Bogotá and trained as a dancer in various Russian and Cuban technique ballet schools. At Universidad Central's Dance and Theatre Interdisciplinary Creation Lab, she developed an interest in linking dance and acting through movement. Now based in London, Laura is currently studying the MFA Movement: Directing and Teaching course at RCSSD. Her current research is the use of metaphorical language in movement for actors. Recently, Laura wrote and directed her first monologue, which focuses on current environmental issues, which was presented at ‘La tierra que habito’ -an art festival held by Colombian environmental NGO Climalab.
